Langley High School

After successfully participating in the initial contract with Fairfax County Public Schools, the primary school project was a 22 classroom two-story addition to this 1960’s school, which included project phasing planning to integrate the construction into the school curriculum and operations. The curtain wall stair feature, with carefully detailed stairway connection, hightlighted the school colors and were an attractive fresh focal point from the Virginia Byway along the Georgetown Pike. Maury, as then Senior Associate with MTFA architecture developed, nurtured and maintained the relationship with design, senior FCPS leadership and construction team both with the County and the contractor for the on-time under-budget deliver for the Fall school year commencement in September. The effort enacted the immediate award of another elementary school commission for the firm, launching multiple commissions."
